We’ve got a couple of thousand loaders and drivers out on the streets every day. We were working with our colleagues in fleet to explore what options were available to reduce the risk to our staff. That’s where the conversations started, and where Fleetclear came in.

I was attending a conference where a particular health and safety issue was brought to everyone’s attention. It related to an incident on one of our contracts, where one of our loaders was unfortunately knocked over by a moving vehicle.

Following that incident, I felt there had to be a solution that could at least provide an advanced warning. It will never remove the risk entirely, but knowing how strong our partnership with Fleetclear was, I approached them.

Fleetclear took the idea and developed the AI Live Lane system. It is great to hear that Live Lane could help solve some of these problems, not only in the waste industry but across a much broader range of industries.
